Halloween part 2

So enough with the dogs.  We went out for our first trick or treat in Japan – lots of fun. It was a very different experience for all of us. No house to house visits trying to find the best candy (for Jeannie and the kids of course).  We went down to the neighborhood trick or treat at the bottom of the hill – so did thousands of others. There were lines for everything – the one to get a balloon was five blocks long. We got a few things in the lines but at one point Paige (who we were lucky to have visit for a second time in about two weeks) and I got a few treats for the kids at a local store.  We all thought that would be better.  Over all, lots of fun and we had a great time.

A few pics of the crowds, Jeannie in her Supergirl socks, Mikaela an Olivia, Paige and Mikaela and our visit to Chinatown earlier today.
Come visit!!!

Sunday Funday

Great day today. We ventured  into Tokyo to see Wayne and Paige. Lunch in Shibuya, but not before the obligatory stop at Shibuya crossing to see the busiest intersection in the world (pic below even though it was rather quiet when we were there).  After lunch we walked to Harajuku to take in all the fashion scene had to offer. I think we took a wrong turn as we ended up in Omotesando. Still a great walk and there were so many people (pic below), we saw a lot. Hopped the train home and saw the sunset as we walked home with a quick stop for a crepe at the local stand.

What a great day. Now that we are getting settled in we are also able to experience more of what Yokohama has to offer. Simon is in soccer Saturday mornings and he is having a blast (coach said he is getting better as well). After that we all took the  journey that Jeannie has been waiting for – Costco. She was so happy to walk the aisles and find a few more things from home. In reality we all were excited, Simon for the cookies and pizza, Mikaela for the “freezer” and me, just to explore.  We got home in just enough time for Wayne and Paige to visit on theor way back from Vietnam. So great to see them and I know we all have enjoyed the visit so far. We walked around the neighborhood on the way to dinner and happened to stumble across a “food fair”.  Lots of fun to see everything and find a few new spots to visit.  On the way home we saw the blinged out car at the bottom – not sure the picture does all of the crystals justice…

Heading into Tokyo tomorrow for another great day of exploration.  Many more posts to come!
